Ivana Ivković

Ivana Ivković, Holy Office, 2009, clirit, LED lights, 200x20x15 cm
This installation made in the form of a commercial, conveys the painful truth but is also a pun that plays on the stereotypes from everyday life. The work is an ironical account of the fact that our offices are our new shrines, places where we spend most of our lives, spaces in which we fear, hope and pray.

Ivana Ivković was born in 1979 in Belgrade, where she currently lives and works. She acquired her MA degree in Drawing from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. Since 2002 she has exhibited her work in several solo shows in Serbia, Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, USA, Turkey, Denmark and Switzerland. She was twice nominated for Politika Award in the category of the best exhibition, in 2007 and 2010. Her works are in the collection of the Museum of Belgrade and several important private collections in New York, Basel, Copenhagen and Lisbon.
