Dolls, 2005, combined technique, 100x70 cm

The installations Dolls consist of elements, each of which is carrying its own associative powers. Wallpapers – the colourful, unstable and unpredictable mise-en-scene of the contemporary living; frames for needlepoints – the exaggerated and pompous celebration of suspicious values; and finally, fashion dolls – whose photographs we see as our own reflection in the mirror, and which, in their plasticity and emptiness, focus the entire experience on the problematised subject of identity’s uniformity.

Kristina Pantelić, born 1982 in Belgrade. Graduated in 2005 from the Art Academy in Novi Sad, department of painting.
