The artist photographed the large community of Chinese immigrants who for more than 10 years live in Belgrade and Pančevo and work in the local flea markets. Her photographs are not just a documentary record of a new aspect of contemporary life in Serbia, but the analyses of the mental states of those who have always belonged to the group of “others”.
Milena Maksimović, born 1976 in Pančevo. Graduated graphics design at the Polytechnic College in Belgrade, in 1998. She has had eight independent exhibitions and has participated in more than forty group exhibitions locally and abroad.
