The problems of collective amnesia and historical memory in the several years-long project Yugo-Museum by Mrđan Bajic is closing symbolically one chapter of Serbian Contemporary Art and opening a new one that coincides with the beginning of the new millennium. 

This virtual museum is made out of a digitally processed and assembled collage, photographs of historical personalities and artefacts that have marked the existence of three countries with the same name, Yugoslavia. The project deals with historical aspects of myths and questions whether politics and history could be turned into art.

Mrdjan Bajić, born 1957 in Belgrade. Completed graduate and postgraduate at the Department of Sculpture, at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, in the class of Prof. Jovan Kratohvil. Tenure at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade since 1997. Represented Serbia at Serbian pixilation the 52nd Venice Biennale, with the Reset project.
