Petar Mirković

Petar Mirković, R 2, 2006, poliester, 100x150x5 cm

In his drawings and paintings, produced in an innovative technique, with the use of polyester, Petar Mirkovic is alluding to film framing in order to represent some of the elusive moments of street life. The sights in Petar’s drawings are, at the same time, some of the uncanniest scenes that depict streets, automobiles, and the commonplace of urban landscape –alienation. The drawings fascinate us with their technical precision and details, creating the impression as if approaching to photographs.

Petar Mirković, born 1978 in Novi Sad. Graduated from the Art Academy in Novi Sad, Department of Sculpture, in 2002. Exhibited in many independent and group exhibitions (Belgrade, Vienna, Berlin, Paris, London, Gothenburg, Rome...). Winner of the international award for modern drawing Henkel Art Award 2005.
