Srđan Đile Marković uses in his work the experiences of popular art and American underground comics. Painting and criticising the phenomena of contemporary civilization, Marković is offering a lucid, though ironic, image of our society. The focuses of his interest are the often-marginalized phenomena and individuals caught and presented in a specific manner of comic strips.
Srdjan Djile Marković, born 1959 in Belgrade. Received his BA from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1988, and him MA from the same school in 1991. A member of the Belgrade-based multimedia artist group Supernaut (1993-1997).
