Uroš Đurić is dealing with the problem of perception and the mere recognition of artistic work, as well as with the questioning of relationships between the artist, the public, the system of art, the state, and politics. This artist, known to the general public as an actor, is showing in his paintings, painted in the style of Malevich, the models that are deprived of personal characteristics and are recognized rather as symbols of our society and popular culture.
Uroš Đurić, born in Belgrade in 1964 Studied Faculty of Philosophy, Department of Art History. Graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1992 and completed postgraduate studies at the same faculty in 1998. Visuel artist, actor, author of radio shows on B92 station. Lives and works in Belgrade.
