The source of Vučković’s work can be found in real and concrete events, motifs and people. The symbols, forms and colours of his pieces only give a hint to the viewer letting him/her form their own final visual presentation. Colour is one of the major visual elements that help in the formation of that image. In Žarko’s works, colour is not aggressive; it is measured and in accord with minimalist forms, which are the basic structure of his drawings.
Žarko Vučković, born in Knin in 1963. Graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade where he also completed postgraduate studies. Lives and works in Gornji Milanovac.
